COMMON QUESTIONS

Q: My child can skate but has never taken lessons. What do I sign him/her up for?

A: All skaters new to lessons must start in Snowplow Sam 1 (ages 3-5) or Basic 1 (ages 6 and up). All groups are formed based on skater’s age and ability level.

Q: What is the Make-Up Policy?

A: There are no make-up classes. If you have any questions or concerns, please email the skating director at lessons@oakscenterice.com.

Q: If I cannot make it on the day of the lesson one week can I come on another day?

A: Skaters must come on the day of their lesson.  Most classes are full for each session so we are unable to accommodate additional skaters on another day.

Q: Do I need yo pre-register or can I just show up on the first day?

A: Pre-registration is required for all Group Skating Lesson Classes.  Our classes fill up quickly so register early to secure a spot.

Q: I feel my child needs to be moved to another level. How do I know?

A: If there is a child in any of our classes that needs to be moved, the instructor will let the skating director know and we will move the child to the appropriate class. All students are moved at the discretion of the instructor and skating director.

Q: I would like more information on the Center Ice of Oaks Figure Skating Club.

A: Information can be found at www.centericefsc.com or you can email lessons@oakscenterice.com.  You can do up to 6 private lessons with a Coach before having to join the Figure Skating Club.  Private lessons are scheduled through individual instructors and are taught during our freestyle time.  Instructor fees range from coach to coach based on age, teaching experience and skating experience. Lesson fees range from $35 – $45 per half hour. Please contact the skating director for more information at lessons@oakscenterice.com.  You can also reach out to a Coach directly.
