Our 5-week Bridge Program serves as the “bridge” between the Group Skating Lessons and membership in the Center Ice of Oaks Figure Skating Club.
This program is open to skaters who have completed Basic 3 and above.
The Bridge Program introduces skaters to the elements of figure skating and a beginning training program. The goal is to provide the fundamental skills so each skater will be able to join the club freestyle ice sessions comfortably. Skaters will also gain a better understanding of what is required if they choose to continue to skate recreationally or begin a competitive career.
The Bridge Program teaches figure skating skills at a faster pace during a Saturday group workshop and includes a self-practice session. Skaters develop new skills and practice their technique — all while having a fun group lesson with friends!
Each weekly Saturday session includes:
- 30 minutes of on-ice self-practice
- 30-minute on-ice group workshop
*During the workshop, skaters are divided into small groups of no more than 6-8 members by ability.
Coaches rotate each week, so this is a wonderful way to meet and work with all of the many of the CIFSC coaches. The Bridge Program is especially effective when done in conjunction with private lessons (not included).
At completion of the program, skaters who are ready to join the Center Ice of Oaks Figure Skating Club will be offered prorated dues if it is mid-season.
Please note, skaters may complete only one 6-week session of this Bridge Program then we encourage you to join the Figure Skating Club.
