Our Mission

The number one objective of the Valley Forge Minutemen Junior program is to provide a highly competitive and supportive environment where all players can maximize the development of their individual athletic skills. It is our goal to facilitate the advancement of our players to the next level, whether that level is a Junior A or college program.

To be successful, a player must possess integrity, strength of character and a strong work ethic in order to realize the full benefits of the Valley Forge Minutemen development program.

The player development program objectives are achieved through an expansive and intensive practice and player training regimen under the direction and supervision of the dedicated, full-time staff of highly respected professionals.

The Program

The emphasis of the program is to provide student athletes with an opportunity to play hockey at a high level with considerable exposure to college scouts. We want to develop and prepare the student athlete for a career advancement into a collegiate program.

Our Program Structure

  • Team Practices: We practice on-ice 3 times a week. These practice re used to reinforce the development of the players skills and to coordinate the systems used for team play.
  • Off-Ice Training Sessions: We offer 2 off-ice sessions per week and have a full service gym on site. These sessions work on weight training, plyometrics, and conditioning.
  • Academics: The goal of the Minutemen is to have all players move on to play collegiate hockey. Therefore, all our players shall identify an academic plan and be enrolled in school. Players will be working with the coaching staff on college placements.
  • Success: The Minutemen Junior program is entering its third year and has set a standard of excellence since its inception. In our inaugural year, we made it to the league playoffs over many well established programs and during the 2005-2006 season we went 31-8-1 and earned a birth to the USA Hockey Junior B Nationals.
  • Outstanding Competition: The Minutemen compete against the top teams in the Northeast. We provide our players with the best competitive environment possible.
    • Metropolitan Junior Hockey
    • The NECDL Showcase
    • Pre-draft Showcase
    • Opportunity to play for USA Hockey Junior B Nationals
  • Exposure: We play in front of various DI, DIII and ACHA college scouts.
  • Training Camp: A two week long pre-season training camp is used to begin furthering skill development through the introduction and practice of individual drills. The camp is also where basic hockey systems that will be used throughout the season are introduced. The camp is run by our dedicated full-time coaching staff.
