The past couple weekends we have had a lot of ups and downs.  This has been a good learning experience for our team.  We have learned that when we play as a team we are as good as anyone, however when we try to play as individuals we are not as successful.  The league this year is so competitive that taking a shift off can cost a team 2 points in the standings.  This past weekend we played 4 of our best periods of hockey, unfortunately we also played two of our worst which put us in holes we could not dig ourselves out of before the end of regulation.  The key to our team’s success this year will competing every shift, and it is up to each member of the team to give a 110% so that he does not let his teammates down.  Up next we have 3 league games, 1 against the Jr. Flyers and 2 against Team Maryland.

The Minutemen 2000 team has come out of the gate flying.  Through 4 league games the team has 3 wins and 1 one loss.  The team’s success has been the result of great team play along with some solid individual efforts.  The offense has been a balanced attack, with all of the forwards chipping in with points.  On the backend our defense has been doing a great job of taking care of our end as well as jumping into the offensive attack.  The real key to this point has been consistent goaltending, both goaltenders have done a great job.  With this said, the season in still young and we have A LOT of work to do as the season rolls along.  We have this weekend off, and are back to action next weekend at home against the Saints and the Royals.
